Munich Re's Group Sustainability Department develops the ESG Strategy for the whole Group and advises the ESG-Committee of the Board of Management on strategic sustainability matters. The department is responsible for steering the ESG Governance across the Group.

The Section ESP 1.2.2 ESG Integration within the Group Sustainability Department is responsible for identifying, evaluating and developing strategic ESG topics for the Group. Tasks include project scoping and implementation, driving the integration and advisory of ESG topics in underwriting and investments as well as strategically positioning Munich Re Group in ESG discussions with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, business units, industry associations & alliances, NGOs).

Within ESP 1.2.2, we are looking for a Sustainability Intern with knowledge in any of the following Human Rights/Climate/Sustainability/ESG topics, skills in project management, ideally financial/insurance market experience, and a high motivation for strategic topics to take on the following challenges:

- Topic Human Rights
- Support for the Munich Re Group's human rights officer
- Research on the topic based on the use of ESG databases
- Support in the creation of the Human Rights / Controversial Weapons Exclusion Lists
- Project collaboration in the improvement of internal implementation processes
- Topic of climate change
- Support in the creation of Group-wide climate targets
- Support with project coordination
- Other topics
- Support in responding to internal/customer inquiries about ESG
- Support with project work (e.g. responding to ESG ratings)
- Support with NGO dialogs (e.g. research on critical ESG topics)
- Screening of current ESG market developments (ESG Trend Radar)
- Coordination of appointments (e.g. team meetings), recording of minutes
- Documentation of requests for internal ESG Case Consulting
- Creation of board-relevant presentation documents
- Maintenance of the SharePoint filing system

**Your Profile**
- Enrolled in a university degree program in economics, business administration, engineering, political or social sciences or other related fields.
- Knowledge in sustainability & ESG topics
- A understanding of financial/insurance market requirements regarding ESG would be an asset
- Excellent language proficiency in English, German is of high advantage
- Advanced MS Office skills particularly PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to use these tools effectively to prepare management decisions
- High intrinsic motivation to drive sustainability across the Group
- High level of commitment, team spirit and an integrative personality
