**THE POSITION**
As a Head of the Drug Discovery Sciences Data & Digital Sciences (DDS²), you will lead a team of data scientists and digital experts to challenge the Status Quo within Discovery Research how we make decision based on our data. To achieve this, you will combine scientific excellence with workflow innovations and a state-of-the-art data infrastructure to guide and support all groups of the Drug Discovery Sciences department. The Head of DDS² will increase visibility of this function across a variety of disciplines including Research DMPK, Discovery Sciences Technologies, CMC, General Pharmacology, and High Throughput Biology. This also means that this function has to innovate a pipeline of applied AI- and machine learning projects as well as workflow projects covering a broad range of diverse medium to high throughput data, such as pictures, videos, bioanalytical, but also
_in vitro_ and
_in vivo_ data.
**Tasks & responsibilities**- You will guide and develop the DDS² team towards a collaborative team performing high quality data science analyses (e.g., pictures, videos, bioanalytical,
- _in vitro_, and
- _in vivo_ PK data).-
- Identify and work out a pipeline of impactful data analyses to improve our way of data-based decision making.-
- You will identify and develop talent, enable transparent communication and knowledge sharing as well as enabling cooperation with all groups in DDS and across Drug Discovery Research. This includes developing data science solutions for the DDS groups Research DMPK, Discovery Sciences Technologies, CMC, General Pharmacology, and High Throughput Biology.-
- You will consult the DDS leadership team on data science and digitalization. Moreover, you will facilitate collaboration with other functions, stakeholders, and external partners (e.g., our IT department, as well as the Boehringer Data Science community).-
- You will continuously develop the digitalization strategy, including the integration of AI and machine learning technologies.-
- To complement your new role, you will shape the digital vision of the DDS department, supervise, and guide digital initiatives and IT Projects and finally steer the data science portfolio.**Requirements**:
- PhD in Computer Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, or comparable-
- Senior professional with in-depth scientific knowledge and long-term experience in data science methodologies and analyses-
- Few years of experience in e.g., omics, digital biomarkers, and/or other advanced data analyses approaches-
- Successful track record in project management, conceptually driving the development and implementation of innovative approaches in data science or data analytics-
- Profound knowledge on public domain data sources-
- Strong team player with a commitment to share knowledge through mentoring and team development-
- Excellent communication skills and dedicated and experienced team leader**Recruiting Process**:
