**Accounting Internship** JOB SUMMARY**
The Accountant intern assists in all accounting and complementary transactions for the German legal entity located in Essen. The intern is a team-player working within a small group of employees in the German company and who is at the same time part of a group of international employees within the Core Lab group of companies worldwide. Accounting is not only related to the German company, but also reporting for inclusion in consolidated group accounts, in an international setting with tight deadlines.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following, other duties may be assigned:

- Assisting in ensuring proper processing of transactions in the Oracle modules in conformity with appropriate requirements in both German GAAP and US GAAP,
- Assisting in setting up and processing transactions of general ledger, vendor and customer accounting, data processing of vendor invoices, processing bank transactions, ensuring timely payments to vendors, as well as performing verification and analysis of balances,
- Getting to know the development and presentation of financial statements for Governmental agencies, tax, management and outside auditors, submitting various tax filings timely and accurately,
- Assisting in generating payroll transactions for payroll processing to our processing partner,

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be eager to learn to perform above essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
- ** **University level of accounting education

**OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Accuracy and integrity
- Critical mind and a flexible and pro-active attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft office / Excel
- Ability to work in both German and English would be an advantage
experience with Oracle/ERP within a multinational company would be an advantage
