- Integrating single-cell multiomic datasets (genomes, transcriptomes, phenotypes) to understand the genetic basis of complex diseases, developing new experimental and computational tools.
- Analyzing data from large-scale functional genomic screens (Perturb-seq/TAP-seq/ICS/FACS) by developing novel computational tools for causal inference, multiomic modelling, and by leveraging the power of AI/ML.
- Developing generative models to predict higher-order phenotypes from sequence, using multiomic functional genomic datasets; exploring the dimensions of time and cell state in large-scale perturbation datasets.
We work across model organisms and systems, including human cells, 3D organoids, animal models and yeast. We have positions open that allow to work collaboratively with wet lab scientists who generate powerful datasets, as well as computational scientists in our lab. We further run close collaborations with leading computational labs around the world. The advertised position provides the unique opportunity to work closely with our partners and funders from big-pharma.
Your role
- Take a lead on your project and work closely with experienced experimental scientists
- Process and analyse data from high-throughput sequencing experiments
- Develop, publish and maintain bioinformatic software
- Keep abreast of the latest methods in omics data generation, integration, and analysis
- Develop computational tools for novel experimental techniques and technologies with academic and industrial partners
- Present ongoing work and findings internally and at conferences

You have
- PhD in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, and/or mathematics
- Working experience in genetics, synthetic biology, functional genoimcs or a related field is mandatory.
- Previous experience in analyzing single-cell sequencing data is desired
- Proficiency in scripting languages, e.g. R or Python
- Proficiency in LINUX server and high-performance computing cluster environments (e.g. SLURM)
- Experience in workflow management systems (e.g. Snakemake, Nextflow), interactive computing interfaces (e.g. Jupyter Server/Notebook, VSCode), container systems (e.g. Docker, Singularity) is desired but not mandatory
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
