**Your mission**:
Our business is growing and so is our team: we will be around 200 employees, distributed over 5 countries, by the end of 2023.

Your core mission as our new Team lead (and first-time hire) is to **guarantee that our People Operations processes are compliant, scalable, and user-friendly on a global level**. You are** the main architect** for building a stable fundament for our processes and the main** change manager** in this context.

As someone leading the People Operations area, you and your teams' initiatives have a **big impact on how people experience us as an employer and how we transport our cultural values in our operational day-to-day.**

**You and the People Operations Team are embedded within the People & Culture Team**. You will report to Elisa, our Head of P&C.

**Part of your team is** Andine - People Operations Manager (located in the EU) and Angel - People Operations Specialist (located in the US).

**Most of our team is located in Germany & US**.

In addition, we work with an employer of record and employ in Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands.

**Your role**:
**This role can be fulfilled based out of Berlin with the option to go to the office or a fully remote position based in Germany.**
- ** You co-create the strategy for the People Operations area with our Head of People & Culture** and implement processes and systems that ensure the operational efficiency of the people function.
- ** You lead our team of People Operations experts**, leverage team strengths to deliver and achieve the objectives set by the organization and create an environment for professional growth.
- You ensure that all our **core People Operations processes are standardized, scalable, and compliant in different markets **(On-and Offboarding, Payroll, Administration etc.). To assure the effectiveness of your measures, you use data to track the performance and build lean processes that make sense.
- You manage and **optimize the usage of the right tools** and guarantee **easy usability** for all our employees (e.g. Personio, Justworks, Slack, GSuite).
- You keep yourself and your team **up-to-date with the current legal dynamics and trends and ensure timely implementation** (e.g. time tracking obligation in Germany; obligation to display salaries in Job Ads in certain US states).
- ** You manage, monitor and improve your relationships with your stakeholders**:

- by empowering them with the right information, analyzing their needs and expectations, and planning and implementing various tasks to engage with them.
- ** You manage and partner up with our providers and external stakeholders** and assure our legal and strategic objectives are met. Some of our partners are:

- Our EoR (Deel)
- German Payroll Provider (Ecovis)
- Different lawyers and consultants
- ** In your role as Team Lead, you are the first contact person for our management team**. You are open to consulting on compliance topics, presenting new processes and policies, and taking over strategic projects independently - both for Europe and USA.

**Skills we are looking for**:

- ** Work experience**: You have extensive experience ( 5 years) working as a People Operations or HR Manager directly interacting with the C-level or top management circle; ideally with first leadership experience. Having worked in a startup and building structures from scratch is a plus
- ** Leadership**:You are passionate about People Operations and lead by example. You understand that resilience, strong communication skills, and emotional intelligence are key aspects to drive impact. You align people behind a compelling vision to build a strong team identity.
- ** Labor law**:You have profound knowledge of German labor law and a good understanding of European and US labor laws. If you have not worked in the US market before, international experience with other markets is ideal.
- ** Compliance is your cup of tea.** Understanding the purpose of legal regulations, as well as potential risks in terms of compliance, are your strong suit. You implement smart solutions and are able to draft policies and legal frameworks yourself (of course: with Legal consultation depending on the topic).
- ** You are a design thinker. **You do not over-engineer and enjoy a sleek setup. Your users are mostly employees, hence you know the importance of easy access, and pay attention to the right tools and process design. You enjoy researching hacks to automate process steps and make full use of our tool landscape.
