**Arbeiten an der Charité**

The Charité Center for Global Health (CCGH), which Charité established in January 2023, aims to develop strong internal, local, national and international activities and partnerships in the field of global health and to support and promote research, teaching and collaboration with politics and all stakeholders in the field of global health. The Center combines the Institute of Virology, the Institute of International Health (formerly the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health) and the Global Engagement Unit. In addition, researchers from other Charité departments and external organizations are affiliated or associated with the Center. The Centre for Global Health at Charite Berlin is looking for a PhD student in the field of mathematical modelling of RSV immunisation strategies.

**Die Stelle im Überblick**
- In the last few years many new potential strategies for the prevention of RSV, the main cause of childhood pneumonia globally, have become available, with more in the clinical development pipeline.

**Danach suchen wir**

To be considered applicants will need to have:
- Evidence of prior interest in the fields of global health and epidemiology.
- Evidence of substantial experience with programming in R, Python or similar.
- Evidence of understanding of the basic concepts of mathematical modelling for infectious diseases as well as of epidemiological measures.

Applicants ideally will also have:
- Experience with the implementation and interpretation of mathematical models for infectious diseases.
- Experience with fitting models to data
- Experience in the use of version control and collaborative coding (e.g. via github)
- Knowledge of RSV epidemiology
- Knowledge of vaccinology of childhood vaccines for respiratory pathogens

- Pay grade E13 TVöD VKA-K. The classification is based on qualifications, the respective experience level is calculated on the basis of the years worked. The annual salary (gross) is stated for a full-time position without annual bonus, allowances and additional services. You can find the collective agreement here
