**Doktorand*in Natural Language Processing Reproducibility**

**(Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, Arbeitszeit 75 %, befristet bis Dezember 2025)**

Die Abteilung **Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences** (KTS)** forscht an der Schnittstelle von Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, semantischen Technologien und Human Information Interaction als Grundlage für innovative Webportale und Plattformen für die Suche und Nutzung von Forschungsdaten. KTS-Innovationen basieren auf einem State-of-the-Art-Software-Stack und forschungsbasierten Innovationen in den genannten Bereichen.

Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts **TIER2** (Trust, Integrity and Efficiency in Research through next-level Reproducibility impact pathways) und der strategischen Ziele von GESIS strebt KTS an, reproduzierbare und wiederverwendbare Methoden zur Analyse und Verarbeitung sozialwissenschaftlicher Forschungsdaten in den Bereichen Natural Language Processing (NLP) und Machine Learning (ML) zu entwickeln. Die Forschung wird in enger Zusammenarbeit innerhalb eines internationalen interdisziplinären Projektteams durchgeführt.

**Ihr Aufgabengebiet**
- Untersuchen wie ML- und NLP-Modelle so gestaltet werden können, dass sie über die begrenzten Umgebungen hinaus, in denen sie ursprünglich erstellt wurden, wiederverwendet und reproduziert werden können
- Sammeln von Benutzeranforderungen, um Checklisten und Metadaten für die Reproduzierbarkeit und Wiederverwendbarkeit von Methoden zu erstellen und ihre Herkunft zu verfolgen
- Entwurf von Schemata und Vokabularen mit etablierten W3C Standards und entlang der Semantic Web Prinzipien zur Beschreibung von Daten, Methoden, oder Software gemäß den FAIR-Grundsätzen (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable)
- Verfassen, Veröffentlichen und Präsentieren von Projektergebnissen in hochrangigen Konferenzen und Fachzeitschriften
- Zusammenarbeit mit KTS-Teammitgliedern und Projektpartner*innen

**Ihr Profil**
- Hochschulabschluss (Diplom/Master) in Informatik, Computational Linguistics oder verwandten Bereichen
- Forschungsinteresse an ML, NLP oder Semantic Web-Technologien
- Praktische Erfahrung im Umgang mit großen Datenmengen, idealerweise Erfahrung mit Hadoop und/oder SparkNLP
- Kenntnisse von ML-Frameworks wie TensorFlow, PyTorch und automatisierte Bereitstellung (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Sehr gute Sprachkenntnisse in Englisch sind erforderlich, Deutschkenntnisse sind wünschenswert
