Die Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) ist das nationale Metrologieinstitut der Bundesrepublik Deutschland mit wissenschaftlich-technischen Dienstleistungsaufgaben und fördert Fortschritt und Zuverlässigkeit in der Messtechnik für Gesellschaft, Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft.

Am Standort Berlin-Charlottenburg ist in der Abteilung 8 „Medizinphysik und metrologische Informationstechnik“ zum frühestmöglichen Zeitpunkt - befristet für 4 Jahre - folgende Stelle zu besetzen:
**Data Scientist, Wissenschaftler/-in oder Postdoc (m/w/d)**
**der Fachrichtung Data Science, Angewandte Mathematik, Statistik, Biophysik oder vergleichbar**
bis Entgeltgruppe 14 TVöD Bund Vollzeit 39 Std./Woche befristet

Der verstärkte Einsatz von KI-Systemen bildet einen großen Teil der Innovationen im Gesundheitswesen. Für die schnelle Bewertung der Marktreife und fundierte Prüfung auf Zuverlässigkeit solcher Produkte wird seit Anfang 2023 das "Testing and Experimentation Facility für Gesundheit" (TEF-Health) aufgebaut. Es stützt sich auf die gemeinsame Expertise von führenden Universitätskrankenhäusern (Charité, Karolinska Institut), industriellen Forschungseinrichtungen (Fraunhofer-HHI), nationalen Metrologieinstituten (PTB, LNE) sowie von benannten Stellen (TÜV, LNE). Die PTB gründet dafür gemeinsam mit dem Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institut und dem TÜV AI Lab ein neues Projektteam. In diesem wird die PTB die Qualitätssicherung von maschinellem Lernen und KI-Systemen in der Medizin maßgeblich vorantreiben und die Basis für eine vertrauenswürdige Verwendung von KI innerhalb der EU schaffen.

**Ihre Aufgaben**
- Evaluierung von offenen und industriellen medizinischen Datensätzen, die zum Trainieren von KI-Algorithmen verwendet werden (Zeitreihen - insbesondere EKG-Daten - und Bilddaten)
- Erstellung einer Sammlung von Kriterien und Metriken, die zur Charakterisierung und Bewertung der Datenqualität für ML/KI bei Medizinprodukten dienen (unter Berücksichtigung des aktuellen Stands der ML/KI-Forschung)
- Erarbeitung von „best practice“-Richtlinien für medizinische Datensätze
- Evaluierung des Einflusses verschiedener Qualitätsmerkmale in Trainingsdatensätzen auf charakteristische Eigenschaften von ML/KI-Anwendungen (wie z. B. Leistungsfähigkeit, Unsicherheit, Robustheit, Generalisierbarkeit und Erklärbarkeit)
- Zusammenarbeit mit Forschungseinrichtungen, benannten Stellen und Firmen aus ganz Europa im Rahmen der Projektpartnerschaft

**Ihr Profil**:

- Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium (Diplom/Master) der Fachrichtung Data Science, Angewandte Mathematik, Statistik, Biophysik, Bioinformatik oder vergleichbar (Promotion ist wünschenswert)
- Einschlägige Erfahrung mit medizinischen Datensätzen (Zeitreihen - z. B. EKG, EEG, MEG - und medizinische Bilddaten - z. B. aus Radiologie, Kardiologie)
- Erfahrung mit ML/KI (Deep Learning, Bayesian Networks, Python, Scikit, TensorFlow, PyTorch), deren praktische Anwendung sowie Kenntnisse in Linux
- Kenntnisse über industrielle Datensätze und statistische Werkzeuge sind vorteilhaft
- Selbstständige, zielorientierte und kreative Arbeitsweise sowie Eigeninitiative
- Ausgeprägte Team
- und Kommunikationsfähigkeit
- Gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
- Bereitschaft zu Dienstreisen im In
- und Ausland
