Job Mission

As a Trading Controller, you are part of our House of Business but will work very closely with our Trading team in the House of Product. This role will encompass both the trading controlling function but also take a global balance level back office perspective. Some of your responsibilities (but not limited to) will include:
Cross-functional collaboration. You will be the link between our trading, finance, and treasury functions where you will leverage and optimize global synergies between the Business and Product houses and markets with respect to our back-office processes.

Reconcile, control, and approve invoices. You will be responsible for reconciliations, balance settlements, and controlling trading invoices across our various markets including towards the Nordpool power exchange and our bilateral trading counterparts.

Manage ancillary service/VPP flexibility invoicing. You will manage the process of sending invoices for the flexibility services Tibber provides to transmission and distribution system operators.

Controlling Elcert and GOs certificates. You will manage the control processes related to renewable energy and guarantees of origin certificates.

Ownership of processes. You will take ownership and help us achieve operational excellence by building processes surrounding the global balance-level back office at Tibber. There will be a lot of new approaches to establish as well as existing processes to redefine for better efficiency.

Ownership of various compliances and other regulations. You will ensure compliance with our bilateral BRP agreements, monitor eSett (advance settlement reports), and ensure REMIT and ACER compliance, NIS, risk mandates, and any other regulatory requirements.

Cash Flow forecasting. You will work closely with the Treasury department and will be responsible for working closely also with the trading team to provide accurate cash forecasting on a monthly basis.

️Ideal Profile

Relevant trading/controlling experience. Several years of professional experience in controlling/trading, ideally in a significant energy/utilities company, exposure or at least a willingness to work in a start-up/scale-up is also ideal. We would be delighted if you have already played an important role in setting up balancing group management in Germany (MaBIS).

Strong Controller skills. You will have knowledge of compliances, regulations, trading, financial reporting (invoicing, balancing, reconciliation etc.), and analysis across our four markets (Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Netherlands)

Analytically minded. Previous experience in project management and analysis, competent in using SQL and dashboards. Ideally, you have gained this experience in the renewable energy sector already.

Self-starter and courageous explorer. You feel comfortable in environments where not everything is running in perfect processes yet. The unknown does not scare you but arouses your curiosity.

Good communication skills. Fluent or native business English (our company language) and any other market language are nice to have (Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, and/or German).

Team player. Detail-oriented and able to inspire, motivate and empower other team members to achieve our growth goals. You should be a good collaborator yet self-sufficient, you enjoy working across multiple departments.
