THE POSITION
The MPI-M is now opening a 2-year position for
Postdoctoral | Research Scientist (W-0009 | all genders)
within the DFG project “”. This project is a joint project with the Freie University Berlin and part of the DFG-Research group “FOR 5528: Mathematical Study of Geophysical Flow Models: Analysis and Computation”.
YOUR PROFILE
- PhD in Mathematics or a related discipline
- In-depth knowledge of analytic methods for hydrodynamic Partial Differential Equations
- Familiarity with numerics and model development is highly desirable
- Solid skills in UNIX/Linux, Fortran, Python, shell scripting, processing, and visualization of simulation data
- Ability to work both in a team and autonomously
- Very good spoken and written English language for communication within the group, for the presentation of scientific results in international conferences, and in written papers are required

EMPLOYEEMENT CONDITIONS
- Payment will be in accordance with German public service positions depending on qualification (E14 TVöD), including extensive social security plans.
