BD4 is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main and serves customers in numerous international markets. We are majority-owned by dnata and are thus a company of the Emirates Group.

Tasks

You are a member of our data science team who develop and continuously improve our predictive models. These models are at the core of our products and give our customer - online travel portals - a detailed picture of their users' interests, intent and current experience on the site.
- Data mining and data analyses to generate new insights and open new business opportunities.
- Develop and improve our existing predictive, explanatory models and machine learning algorithms
- Create automated learning systems that gracefully scale to increasing complexity and expectation
- Help improve the scope of our data sets by identifying new data collection and procurement opportunities on an ongoing basis
- Conduct and collaborate on A/B tests and their evaluations to help us understand better how our products are performing
- Monitor the industry for promising new approaches and technologies and evaluate its potential by developing research prototypes
- Be part of an interdisciplinary Scrum team with engineers and work closely together with the product team as well to get enhancements or new models into production.

**Requirements**:

- Deep understanding of techniques and tools in data analysis, machine learning, and recommendation systems
- You have strong experience in machine learning frameworks, Python and other programming languages (eg. R, Spark, TensorFlow)
- Experience in designing analytics pipelines in Azure ML or other Cloud environments
- You have good business sense and are capable of thinking holistically about how insights and deliverables feed into the wider business strategy. You have the ability to quickly understand technical information, derive insights, build solutions and work independently and responsibly with attention to detail.
- You are an effective communicator with an ability to find stories in the insights and data and explain them to diverse audiences. A creative, curious and analytical mind able to layout facts and figures to tell a clear story
- You are comfortable working with data and have practical experience with quantitative data analysis & visualization, BI tools (e.g. PowerBI), SQL queries and data pipelines. Good programming knowledge (ideally in python and pyspark) and a solid understanding of machine learning techniques is preferred. Experience working with big data tools is a plus
- You are a team player and you like working in an agile environment
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required
