**How does SAFe fit in assessment models like CMMI and ASPICE?**

**Thesis Objective**

As a semiconductors company, for our IC development, we use the well know waterfall development model, but the importance of embedded and accompanying software has grown significantly over the past years. This growth came, as expected, with pains and, as a business line, we decided to move towards an agile way of working for our software teams. We believe that working in an agile way will improve our development efficiency.

In this context, we decided to adhere to SAFe (scaled agile framework) in our business line and we now have in all our product lines SAFe-based ARTs (agile release trains) running.

But as we want to deliver quality software for various markets, we are also obliged to adhere to other standards. In Automotive, our customers demand ASPICE, other markets demand CMMI.

NXP also has a gate-based development process BCAM. The student should also propose how SAFe fits in BCAM.

**Expectations**

**Activities**
- 30% reading and understanding of the various models (SAFe, ASpice, CMMI, BCAM)
- 20% preparing a proposal
- 20% align with the knowledgeable quality persons
- 15% roll-out of the proposal in a pilot project
- 5% assess the conformance
- 10% adapt and rework

**Requirements**:

- You are enrolled at a University in Germany/Belgium
- Open to work on site in Hamburg/Leuven for min. 3 days/week
