A position as scientific coordinator is available in the Division of Computational Genomics and Systems Genetics in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Oliver Stegle at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany.

**Job description**:
Your responsibilities:

- Scientific project management, including coordination with external partners
- Internal and external communication and organization of project meetings
- Management of activities for the recruitment of third-party funding including reporting and grant writing
- Contribution to the scientific strategy of our division
- Contribution to the presentation of scientific results, including publications and patents
- Depending on your profile, the position can also be combined with own research activities within the division’s research program

Your possibilities:

- Be involved in the shaping of interdisciplinary research projects and infrastructures enabling innovative personal medicine in the Heidelberg area and nationally
- Get exposed to a plethora of fields ranging from AI-guided clinical decision making to modern web development technologies
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of experts bringing state-of-the-art biomedical research closer to clinics and patients
- Take part in national and international organizations such as genomDE, the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH), the German Human Genome-Phenome Archive (GHGA), the AI Health Innovation Cluster (AIH) and the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS)
- Become involved in an existing team of experienced project managers in various activities in the Heidelberg research area
- Widen your expertise with extensive possibilities of training programs, seminars and conferences

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in life sciences, bioinformatics or math / physics or a related topic
- PhD degree and previous work at postdoctoral level or in industry with a high degree of independence is advantageous
- Excellent project management skills proven in an academic or industrial setting are a prerequisite
- Experience in management of third-party projects from various funding organizations is desired
- Excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in German are necessary
