largest university in Saxony-Anhalt was created in 1817 when the University of Wittenberg (founded in 1502)

merged with Friedrichs University Halle (founded in 1694). Today the university has 340 professors and 20,000

students. Research at the university focuses on nano and life sciences, the Enlightenment, society and culture.

Within the frame of the microPank consortium, the Faculty of Natural Sciences I, Institute of Pharmacy,

Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, is seeking to fill the position of a

Senior Scientist / Postdoc (m-f-d)

in full time at the earliest possible date. The position will end 31.12.2027

The salary will be according to salary group 13 TV-L, depending on the assigned tasks and individual qualifi
- cations.

**Tasks**:
The microPank consortium is dedicated to the development of preclinical, patient-specific models for the
personalized treatment of pancreatic cancer. The focus is on 3D tumor models from primary tumor cells and
cell types from the tumor microenvironment, which are modelling the situation in the patient as realistically
as possible. Interdisciplinary teams from natural science and medicine are working together to develop inno
- vative therapeutic strategies for patients with pancreatic cancer.
- Design, manufacturing and characterization of electrospun scaffolds for the cultivation of pancreatic tumor

organoids and cells of the tumor microenvironment
- Development of multicomponent scaffolds for delivery of substances which induce biological respons-es

(e.g. to influence the polarization of macrophages)
- Characterization of scaffold properties by microscopic and spectroscopic techniques
- Independent project management
- Participation in national and international collaborations

**Requirements**:

- Completed doctorate (PhD) in a project-relevant field
- Experience in electrospinning required
- Experience in cell culture techniques desirable
- Theoretical background and practical experience with polymeric materials
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Analytical and problem-orientated thinking
- Structured and thorough way of working
- Ability to work in a team
