Senior Polymer Scientist

Purpose of Job:
Responsible for the development of specialized and sustainable product solutions under consideration of all relevant safety
- (SHE), environmental
- and legal regulations.

Technical lead on product innovation programs ensuring close cooperation with the business segment teams, the operational production site teams and the R&D department head.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsibility for planning and execution of R&D projects in line with the CCS segment strategies.
- Planning and ensuring project execution in line with the approved project plan, ensuring close alignment with all project stakeholders and leading on correction measures in case of deviations from project plan
- Working closely with business teams and customers to identify new business opportunities as well as driving idea generation and concept assessment to ensure the value proposition meets the business needs
- Closely following new technology developments to identify new technology trends and unmet needs
- Converting unmet needs into ideation and new project proposals
- Setting up and maintaining internal and external networks to facilitate delivery of segment strategies and preventing barriers within the wider technical and commercial community
- Ensuring a proactive approach to SHE, delivering continuous improvement of occupational and process safety and Exhibiting SHE leadership through own behaviours

Education, Competencies and Skills:

- degree in Chemistry, or polymer science related field, PhD preferred
- 5 years’ experience in industrial R&D
- Detailed knowledge on industrial polymer synthesis and project management
- Track record on cross functional collaborations with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong quality awareness and analytical approach
- Fluent in German and English languages
