**Machine Learner Multi-Omics and Imaging (all genders)**

You will use state-of-the-art data science methods and work in close collaboration with biologists and biochemists to find and elucidate new innovative targets and mode of actions. You will contribute to generate a better understanding of the effects of our compounds to match the complex regulatory and customer needs.
You will be part of a diverse team of data scientist striving for the digital transformation of Small Molecules.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Using and developing advanced mathematical models (e.g. machine learning), bioinformatics, and image-analysis skills, you will deliver and elucidate new starting points to advance chemical design
- Formulating clear, testable hypotheses and relevant experimental planning in imaging and biochemistry, you enhance understanding of bioactive molecules and guide towards safe and active compounds
- Leading strategic and scientific initiatives within the Data Science Community, you will be at the forefront of innovation
- Establishing a trusting relationship with colleagues in biology and biochemistry, you advance the search for new molecules and the biological, biochemical understanding of our targets
- You are an integral member of project teams, driving new product development together with all team members - good collaboration and communication are essential
- You are part of an international & interdisciplinary research team, closely interacting with your colleagues from the entire Bayer R&D organization

**WHO YOU ARE**
- You hold a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biology, computer science, physics, or related fields, or possess related professional experience; a background in biology is a plus
- You possess solid programming skills (Python and/or R) and are acquainted with Unix/Linux
- Your profound knowledge of the latest data science methods required for the identification and optimization of targets and molecules is essential
- Your ability to drive cross-functional science in interdisciplinary teams is valued
- Your high social competence and effective communication skills enable you to closely collaborate across functions
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken, are a significant asset round off your profile
