**About our client**

Our client is an early-stage venture capital fund, focusing on start-ups in the GreenTech and FoodTech sectors in Europe and the US. They are currently seeking a Head of Finance to join them on their incredible growth journey. The position is based in Berlin and offers flexibility for remote work. **What the job involves**
- Ownership of all internal accounting, tax and financial reporting processes and policies of funds and the management entity. Especially, managing portfolio financial reporting processes, quarterly portfolio company reporting and valuations
- Responsible for the treasury management and all tax-related matters across the management entity and the funds
- Work closely with external parties, including the external fund administrator, tax professionals, auditors, legal consultants, limited partners, and portfolio company CFOs
- Identify and mitigate risks that could adversely impact the fund performance
- Support the investment team in the financial due diligence processes. Take ownership of the financial aspects of the transactions and contribute to identifying and formulating exit strategy scenarios
- Ensure correct and consistent accounting treatment of investments and transactions
- Oversee various firm administrative and office needs for the firm, including IT, facilities, office leases, supply agreements and office management

**Who we are looking for**
- University degree in finance, business studies or related disciplines
- Ideally, previous experience in a finance or investment operations team within venture capital
- Several years of experience in audit or transaction services at a Big 4 firm is beneficial
- Strong analytical and research skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Self-organised and self-motivated with a result-orientated mindset and excellent communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities
- Strong work ethic, no ego and a willingness to roll-up your sleeves
- Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong interest in pre-seed and venture capital investing, with a good understanding of venture capital investing is advantageous
- Personal interest in the investment focus areas (FoodTech and GreenTech products and services) is a plus
- Proven PowerPoint, Excel and financial modelling capabilities
- Fluent in English and German
