The department of Neurology of the University Medical Center Ulm (medical director: Professor Dr. A. Ludolph) is instantly looking for a- Postdoctorate Research Associate ( M/F/d)- The University Hospital Ulm with its employees (f/m/d) stands for modern patient care with high quality, top research and medical teaching oriented towards the future as well as training in attractive professional fields. **Your Tasks**:

- Investigation of vascular pathologies and neurodegenerative changes in the aging human brain
- Development of preclinical models of neurovascular diseases
- Transcriptomic analyses and examination of corresponding proteins including posttranslational modifications
- Genotyping using classical and modern approaches
- Identification and validation of disease-relevant targets and signaling mechanisms in human tissues
- Writing of publications and grant proposals
- Supervision of laboratory technical assistants and PhD students

**Your profile**:

- A terminal Ph.D. degree or Ph.D equivalent in biology, biochemistry, medicine or related field
- Knowledge of the human neuroanatomy and research experience in the human brain, preferably in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and scoring of pathological changes (e.g. Braak Staging)
- Knowledge of and broad hands-on experience with histological techniques (e.g. advanced silver staining method, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, electron microscopy) and neuroimaging
- Experience in molecularbiology (e.g. PCR, NGS) protein biochemistry (e.g. Western blotting, ELISA, 2D gel electrophoresis, receptor autoradiography)
- High motivation with a strong work ethic, reliability and responsibility
- Ability to work independently, well-organized mode of operation, enjoying team work, creative
- Experience in writing scientific articles (documented by a track record of first authorship(s))
- Proficient in writing and speaking in German and in English
