Postdoctoral Position

The new Collaborative Research Center 1601 (CRC 1601:
I. Physics Institute (University of Cologne), the Regional
Computing Centre Cologne, the Argelander Institute for
Astronomy (University of Bonn), the Max Planck Institute for
Radio Astronomy (Bonn) and the Forschungszentrum Jülich.
Our research on the “Habitats of Massive Stars across Cosmic
Time” combines complementary methodological pillars such
as observational astronomy, instrumentation, laboratory
astrophysics, and computational astrophysics. We offer a
Postdoctoral position (f/m/x) in Observational Astrophysics
based at the I. Physics Institute in the workgroup of Prof. Dr.
Labadie.

**YOUR TASKS**
- The successful applicant will take a leading role in the
sub-project “A high-resolution view of massive stars in
peculiar habitats”. The broad objective is to share our
understanding of massive star formation and evolution
in different environments such as the Galactic Center,
galactic clusters and low-metallicity environments as, e.g.,
the Magellanic Clouds by making use of infrared (VLT,
VLTI, JWST) and sub-mm observational data. Their work
is part of a large, international collaboration exploring
different spatial and temporal scales.

**YOUR PROFILE**
- The applicant should have a PhD in astronomy and astro
- physics or related field, with demonstrated experience
in observational astrophysics.They are highly motivated,
show scientific independence, critical thinking, as well
as an ability to co-supervise bachelor/master students.
Carrying out teaching duties in English and/or German is
expected.

If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements
