- Berlin- Vollzeit (100%)- 01.07.2023**BRAND COPYWRITER / CONTENT WRITER (M/F/D)**:

- De Gruyter is looking for an experienced strategic and creative brand copywriter to join our communications team. You will work alongside marketing, editorial, sales and product teams to write and edit targeted and engaging content across a variety of platforms, while ensuring consistency and correspondence with brand identity. As De Gruyter’s go-to storyteller, you will develop our brand identity further and hone our tone of voice by creating brand messages, stories and campaigns that win over our academic audiences like researchers, authors, editors, librarians, students, thus contributing to our business goals. You will report to the Director Communications. The position is permanent.**YOUR TASKS**:

- Write and edit short
- and long-form brand copy and content for digital and print assets such as press releases, company statements, internal memos, whitepapers, blog posts, newsletters, corporate website, landing pages, intranet, social media, ads, videos, events etc.
- Create concepts and copy for successful communication strategies and 360-degree campaigns for academic audiences, products and services, ensuring they align with brand strategy and company objectives
- Proofread, revise and edit content supplied by other team members, steer freelancers and agencies that produce content for us and make sure quality standards and brand tone of voice are adhered to
- Take the lead in maintaining and enhancing brand reputation by ensuring De Gruyter communicates with a single recognizable voice through clear, concise copy across all communications channels
- Take ownership of the brand tone of voice and style, develop guidelines further and train colleagues to use it consistently

**YOUR PROFILE**:

- 3+ years of experience in copywriting, journalism, communications or digital content-focused marketing - be it for an agency or in the tech, start-up, (academic) publishing, higher education or cultural sector
- Native-level English speaker with an editor’s eye, impeccable grammar and great writing and storytelling skills (German writing and communication skills a plus)
- Experience and confidence in writing for audiences such as academic authors, librarians, researchers, editors and publishers in an engaging manner
- Ability to write across a variety of tones, styles and formats, as well as skills in concept creation for marketing and / or communications campaigns and strategies
- Strategic thinker who develops creative ideas to achieve business goals, has a passion for writing, an eye for detail and a knack for taking on complex ideas and making them engaging and accessible
