Transport Specialist

The identified resource will have the objective of supporting daily operational activities, with particular focus on the organisation of transports, developing contacts with suppliers and customer loyalty.

Job Profile

The resource inserted, with increasing autonomy, will have to perform the following tasks:

- Manage requests for Italy and/or export/import shipments, overseeing the process from taking charge of the service to its completion;
- Organise shipments using the reference carriers for the area of competence;
- Managing direct relations with customers by providing advice and the required information;
- Making spot offers and communicating prices to customers in support of the sales department within the limits of the agreed proxies;
- Follow the entire process of transport planning and organisation, order taking and confirmation via the most appropriate channel;
- Manage direct relations with suppliers in order to obtain the best market prices;
- Managing the operational and documentary procedures relating to national and/or international land shipments;
- Send cargo orders to carriers;
- Check the relevant transport documents;
- Monitor the timing of delivery and arrival of goods;
- Enter and manage orders in the company system;
- Use and update customers' computer systems, processing shipments;
Skills & Experience

The necessary requirements and technical skills required for the role are:
Secondary school diploma or Bachelor's degree in languages;
1-2 years' experience in an international shipping context;
Good knowledge of the Office package, in particular excel;
Excellent knowledge of the English language; knowledge of a second foreign language is an advantage;
Good problem solving, team working and stress management skills.
