**Your tasks**:
**We are looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in Berlin, working on the Mika app, a cutting-edge digital health solution designed to empower cancer patients.**
As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in personalizing the app experience for users and determining the efficacy of the app. You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, developing innovative solutions, and leveraging machine learning techniques to drive improvements in the app's features, such as monitoring of symptoms, delivering information about symptoms and disease, and helping patients deal with their condition.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to cancer patients' needs and app usage
- Develop and implement machine learning models to personalize the app experience and improve its efficacy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and medical experts, to integrate data-driven solutions into the app's features and functionalities
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
- Continuously improve and refine models based on new data and feedback from users and medical professionals

**Your profile**:
**Must-Have Requirements**
- Strong statistical knowledge, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and probability theory
- Proficiency in Python and its data science stack (e.g., NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn)
- Experience with Git and SQL
- Knowledge of common machine learning techniques, such as classification, regression, and clustering, as well as ML-specific Python libraries
- Legally permitted to work in Germany (EU national or in possession of a work permit for Germany)

**Nice-to-Have Requirements**
- Knowledge of Bayesian Statistics and relevant Python packages (e.g., PyMC, Arviz)
- Experience with causal modeling
- Familiarity with Docker, GitLab, and AWS
- Experience in bringing statistical/ML models to production, including model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Experience working with health data, such as electronic health records, claims data, or clinical trial data

**About us**:
Half of us will develop cancer in our lifetime. As current or eventual patients, our mental and physical health plays a crucial role in our immune system’s ability to defeat disease and utilize the latest immunotherapies to their fullest extent. Mika has developed evidence-based neurobehavioral techniques that are digitally delivered to patients on their smartphone. We architect around an intended therapeutic benefit to lower oncology specific distress such as depression, anxiety and fatigue. We are in pre-clinical discovery to positively modulate the immune system to make cancer drugs more effective. We have invested our capital and time in the design and clinical validation of Mika to be Life Science quality in its clinical claims and safety, following a pharmaceutical drug development pathway. Now we are ready to scale our 1st generation “Oncology based distress” product globally while also advancing our groundbreaking research in the clinical development of our 2nd generation product that positively alters the immune system itself.
