**Your duties**

You will work in the joint EU funded Interreg Alpine Space Project
**Managing Protective Forest Facing Climate Change (MOSAIC) **dealing with compound events, a combination of multiple climate-related hazards, and assessing their effects to forests. To be more effective in supporting regional, national, and transnational adaptation actions and policies for CC induced natural hazard risks you will be active in the area of knowledge transfer in an international research setting. Your tasks will be:

- coordinate and conduct field work in five Alpine countries,
- collaborate with actors with various backgrounds, e.g. foresters, risk managers, politicians, and decision makers,
- data collection and data analysis based on social-science methods and theory,
- draw up research reports and scientific publications

**Your profile**
- You hold a highly qualified master’s degree in Forest Science or Political Science,
- willing to pursue the PhD degree,
- have a research focus on forest or land use policy or natural hazard risk management and preferably also on knowledge transfer,
- are familiar with forestry or land use issues,
- experiences in quantitative and/or qualitative methods of empirical social research
- have high communication skills in an international research setting,
- are proficient in both English and German language

This post is designed to serve in fostering young researchers and scientists and give the successful applicant the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. The position is also suitable for part-time work.
