Your working environment

- Develop and implement cutting-edge QC methods, algorithms (e.g. QAOA, QSVM, QML) and workflows to solve relevant industrial use cases
- Evaluate and benchmark latest QC technology (NISQ and beyond)
- Identify open research questions and derive a working hypothesis
- Scientific processing and critical discussion of the results obtained
- Multi-disciplinary cooperation and support in other projects in the department
- Supervision of student work on selected sub-aspects of the research work

The final doctoral topic is defined together with the professor (M/F/d). The prerequisite for the collaboration is the commitment of supervision as well as a confirmed topic delimitation on the part of the professor (M/F/d) of a university or research institution authorized to award doctorates.

Your qualifications
- Completed studies in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline with good to very good academic achievements and the entitlement to a doctorate
- Deep knowledge in one or several of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, statistics, optimization, computational physics/ chemistry/ engineering, quantum physics/ chemistry or materials science
- Programming skills in modern languages such as Python, C#. Experience in quantum computing in particular in related software libraries and toolkits such as Qiskit, Cirq, Pennylane
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Good communication skills, able to work and to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams
