- We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen, currently with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. Our innovative products in the fields of Life Sciences MS and Inorganic MS, as well as Trace Elemental Analysis, are among the leading products globally in their respective markets.

As part of a collaborative team, you will have the chance to contribute to various areas, including the development of system requirements specifications for new products in collaboration with product marketing. You will also be involved in executing feasibility experiments to demonstrate the proof of principle of new development concepts, and in developing and implementing measurement procedures and data analysis for the control, characterization, and optimization of high-resolution mass spectrometry instruments. - Conception and implementation of feasibility studies to demonstrate proof-of-principle of newly developed hardware in the field of Life Science Mass Spectrometry
- Ensure high experimental quality and deep theoretical understanding throughout all stages of product development, from research to serial production.
- Embrace and overcome complex or novel challenges by developing effective solutions and execution strategies highlighting your problem-solving abilities.
- Collaborate closely with your colleagues to create control software for hardware components emphasizing your teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Playing an important role in the product development process, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation
- Serve as a representative of the company by positive and productive interactions with external customers and collaborators.
Keys to Success
- Demonstrate first years industrial or several years academic experience (Ph.D.) in development of sophisticated analytical instrumentation or related technologies showcasing your expertise and dedication in the field.
- Showcase experience in the field of mass spectrometry or other electron / ion optical techniques would be highly appreciated.
- Possess strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently and structured in a detailed scientific manner.
- Effective and efficient in designing and implementing automated instrument tuning routines using Python or other scripting languages.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electronic components, highlighting your ability to work with and resolve technical challenges.
- Emphasize your strong flexibility to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different work dynamics while maintaining a structured and detailed scientific approach.
