Maybe you have already built you own quadro-copter or your own photo gimbal to take aerial photos. If yes, then you should talk to us. We look for self-motivated engineers with a mechanics orientation to build up a team with a strong start-up spirit.

**Master Thesis, Internship for Laser Tracking Systems on UAV Platforms**

In the field of laser tracking systems for UAV platforms we offer master thesis and internship positions for several topics:

- Laser beam acquisition and tracking schemes for UAV platforms
- Tracking systems including gyro sensors and IMU units
- Optimum control-loop designs for mechanism systems
- Detailed modelling of various system components, from actuators to optical detectors
- Other topics

Part of the work will be the development and setup of a test system. This will include some design work for opto-mechanic systems and mechanism (bearings, encoders, motors, etc.).

Ideally, you already have experience in some of the following fields:

- Design of mechanism/gimbal systems for UAV flight hardware
- Good intuition for structural elements, motors, encoders, etc. - ideally, you have already worked on some opto-mechanics for lenses and mirrors
- Knowledge of how to implement control systems around the mechanism and interest in gaining a good understanding of the complete system
- Some experience in programming embedded controller

**Your Profile**
- Master program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar
- Experience in designing mechanical structures/mechanisms/opto-mechanical systems
- Good knowledge of 3D CAD-Software especially Autodesk Inventor
- Some experience in C/C++ programming and/or Matlab/Octave
- Very good written and spoken English communication skills - German helpful, but not mandatory
