The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.

**Job description**:

- Set-up and perform a translational research project using available biomaterial from the PROBASE trial in order to screen for new biomarkers in the early detection of prostate cancer
- Perform statistical data analysis in PROBASE, as well as in complementary study contexts and databases, for studies on prostate cancer risk stratification, early detection and improved methods for mínimally invasive diagnosis
- In collaboration with PROBASE and other investigators, prepare scientific manuscripts for refereed journals and other academic outputs

**Requirements**:
Applicants must have a university degree (M.Sc.) in epidemiology and/or biostatistics and/or life sciences (biology, molecular biology, medicine). In-depth knowledge of epidemiological study methods, experience with statistical software (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R) and fluency in written and spoken English are requirements. A good knowledge of German is useful. Further assets will be experience in conducting translational projects, and good skills in organization, cooperation and communication.
