**Your mission**:
**At GotPhoto, our mission is to empower photographers and drive their success. **As our first Data Scientists, you will support this vision by driving forecasting efforts and training computer vision models with the goal of creating smart workflows and supporting our customers in optimizing their revenues. Join us in establishing data governance across the business and making photographers successful by unlocking the power of data.
**Your role**:
You will be part of an interdisciplinary Data team and report directly to Ahmed Marzouk, Head of Data. The team currently consists of two Data Engineers and two Business Intelligence Analysts and will be completed by two (Senior) Data Scientists with whose advice and support we will positively impact the design and implementation of our data products.
**Our stack**:We use AWS for hosting services and deployment, Statistics for analysis, Python for coding, Tensorflow, and Pytorch for AI model building.
**In your role as Data Scientist, you will**:
- Contribute to company-wide coordination of Data & Analytics topics, facilitating cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Establish and manage cross-functional skill development in Data Science, fostering a culture of continuous learning and expertise exchange
- Develop and enhance the Data Science infrastructure, ensuring its effectiveness and scalability through active improvement efforts
- Collaborate on strategic and process-related topics such as prioritization of use cases and MLOps, to drive impactful outcomes
- Innovate independently, bringing new ideas to life through prototypes
**Skills we are looking for**:
**Soft**:
- A completed degree in a relevant field with a quantitative focus (Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics), preferably with experience in empirical research
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in developing and implementing Data Science products end to end
- Hands-on experience in the computer vision domain
- Hands-on experience in building prediction models using various algorithms and techniques
- Strong independent work ethic and a passion for continuous learning
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively convey complex topics to diverse audiences, spoken and in writing
**Technical**:
- Sound knowledge of classic machine learning models (classification, regression, ranking, time series) and inferential statistics
- Proficiency in Python and relevant numerical and ML packages
- Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with big data technologies (e.g. SageMaker, AirFlow, Snowflake, Looker)
- Strong software engineering practices, including unit tests, logging, CI/CD pipelines, and experience in developing and operating software in production (APIs, monitoring, keeping SLAs & scaling)
