As a technical assistant (m, f, d) in our team your activities support diabetes research on human pluripotent stem cells. You will undertake responsible and challenging tasks in close coordination, guidance, and consultation with the Senior Scientist of the group.
- Cultivating (propagation and differentiation) and maintenance of human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) in an undifferentiated state
- Cultivating and differentiating hPSCs into endodermal derivatives, especially the pancreas and insulin-producing beta cells, including troubleshooting
- Conducting and planning the optimization of CRISPR genome editing, cloning, vector design, PCR, DNA preparation, and sequence analysis
- Conducting transfections with non-viral (liposomes) and viral (lentiviruses) platforms to generate transient and stable cell lines
- Preparing cells for fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) and flow cytometry
- Conducting immunostaining techniques and microscopy to capture images
- Conducting protein extraction and western blot analysis
- Responsible for the maintenance of all cell cultures
- Setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment, such as a perifusion machine to measure insulin secretion in vitro.
**Requirements**:
- Theoretical knowledge of molecular and cell biology or stem cell laboratory management
- Training as a biology laboratory technician or biological technical assistant.
