Public Advocacy

Corre Energy is a leader in the development and operation of Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES) projects and products that accelerate the transition to net zero and enhance security and flexibility of energy systems. Our initial market focus is Europe, with anticipated expansion into other major markets. LDES projects and products unlock the value of renewables by combining hydrogen production with long duration and flexible energy storage, thereby supporting Europe’s net zero decarbonisation goals, increasing Europe’s energy security and facilitating the energy transition.

**Position**:

- Hold accountability to ensure Corre Energy & in-country project teams establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, state and federal ministers, trade associations including BVES, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations
- Define and deliver on an agreed external affairs agenda together with Communications Lead Germany & the local Project Teams.
- Shape policy / regulatory decisions
- Manage & continuously improve Corre Energy’s corporate reputation in German federal states and on
- Gather and analyse real-time information on political, governmental and key influencer activities in Germany to provide policy advice and strategic support to both Corre Energy EU-Public Affairs & German project teams
- Closely integrate with wider business stakeholders to identify the key business issues in Germany and require External Relations support. Regularly review these to ensure alignment with changing business priorities
- Ensure all stakeholder activity is properly communicated and recorded. Compile reports measuring both the outputs against plans and outcomes against objectives
- Co-create country specific strategy based white papers, policy comments and improvement suggestions in the wider field of Energy storage and specifically on CAES

**Requirements**:

- Proven track record in Leading Public Affairs role in the German energy industry, with power TSOs in energy policy making and regulatory roles
- Capable of operating strategically at a senior level, but also able to work more tactically and operationally with support from colleagues across the Group and appropriate partners/media agencies as required
- Experience delivering against business goals through excellence in communications and influencing of key stakeholders
- Previous experience of identifying, understanding, analysing and interpreting potential problems, and use creative thinking to modify approaches and come up with unique solutions
- Acute knowledge of the energy sector and all main issues and developments impacting upon Corre Energy.
- Ability to work both strategically and operationally, and with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Be fluent in both oral and written German and English in order to be able to prepare business documents and conduct professional meetings, workshops and presentations in either language
- Experience in either energy or infrastructure environments
- Strong team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong interpersonal skills as required to interact with personnel across all levels of the Group.
