**The Role**:
At Vay, we are building a world-class, scalable finance function ready for our future growth. In this position, you have the opportunity to build a highly automated accounting environment with new technologies with us. You will be part of the Berlin team and have a direct impact on team success. You will work closely with our external accountant and tax advisor and then directly contribute to the in-house accounting setup.

**Responsibilities**:

- Own the relationship with an external accountant and tax advisor and prepare the ongoing financial accounting in Datev
- Support and coordinate the preparation of month-end closings and annual financial statements with external accountant
- Support with the "purchase to pay" process on a daily basis
- Be the main contact point for invoicing and payment issues with other departments and external supplier
- Manage AP and prepare payment cycles
- Manage employee expenses and credit cards
- Ensure compliance of documents with accounting and tax regulations
- Continuously review processes and tools to ensure the efficiency of accounting processes
- Support with the implementation of reporting structures and processes

**The Profile**:

- Motivated, proactive and self-driven
- Fluent in English (German would be a plus)
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role
- Degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA) or a commercial diploma (kaufmännische Ausbildung)
- Hands-on mentality and independent decision-making
- Digital mindset and interest in technology

**Nice to Haves**:

- Knowledge of German GAAP
- Experienced Datev user
- Experienced Excel user
- Experience using Pleo or other business spending solutions
