**Introduction**:
Messe Berlin Shanghai is a subsidiary of Messe Berlin, and the organizer of ITB China, the leading B2B travel trade fair focused on the Chinese travel market.

We are currently seeking a Head of Sales & Business Development in our Shanghai office to lead our key account management team and drive exhibitor acquisition, up-sell, overall customer satisfaction and create new business opportunities.

**Position Overview**:
As the Head of Sales & Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving exhibition growth at a cross-section of sales, marketing, and business development.

You will lead an international team of Sales & Key Account Managers based in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Berlin and coordinate their efforts to achieve our overall sales goals, actively spearheading the acquisition of new key customers and partners.

External representation of ITB China to international key clients and high-levelexecutives will be central to your responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Develop and execute innovative and integrated sales, marketing, and business development strategies to acquire exhibitors and foster growth

2. Lead the sales team across multiple locations, ensuring alignment with our overarching objectives and sales targets

3. Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify new opportunities and shape our product offerings

4. Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations, negotiate deals and finalize legal agreements

5. Cultivate strategic partnerships and expand our network of international key customers

6. Segment customer groups and products effectively, evaluate customer value and drive initiatives to enhance satisfaction and client retention

7. Oversee and coordinate client contracting, invoicing and timely payments

8. Coordinate aggregated and continuous sales reporting, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making

9. Oversee marketing communications towards our exhibitors and optimize messaging and messages accordingly

10. Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture within the sales team and effectively coordinate communication with other company departments and internal stakeholders

**Qualifications**:
1. Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in the events or travel industry

2. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain key client relationships

3. A strong command of the English language and a keen sense of the style of promotional and legal text writing

4. Strategic thinker with a keen analytical skillset and a proactive approach to problem-solving

5. Business-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous process improvement and quality assurance

6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel

7. Ability to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities under time pressure

8. Basic or advanced proficiency in Mandarin is advantageous

9. Willingness to travel often domestically (China) and internationally
