The tasks within the thesis will consist of:

- Generation of **thermal models and parametrized compact models**:

- **Modelling the thermo-mechanical behavior **and the **reliability of interconnection materials **under different temperature cycles
- Verification of **physic-of-failure models **by active load cycle testing (power cycling)
- **Contribute to a network of power electronic experts **within a Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK)) funding project

The learnings out of the thesis will lead to
- A deeper understanding of failure mechanism in interconnection technologies under cyclic loading
- Application specific lifetime prognosis for power modules in a wind energy converter

A doctoral student is a research enthusiast,

- Possess a master degree with good or very good grade in **Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Physics**:

- Are interested in **thermo-mechanical simulation**:

- Already gained first experience with **interconnection technologies **in the electronic industry or research institutes
- Have **strong communicational skills **that enable you to discuss and exchange ideas and results with other experts
- Are fluently speaking **German and English**
