Database Administrator

**General**:
**Start**: as soon as possible
**Location**:Leipzig International School, Könneritzstraße 45, Leipzig
**Contract**: Full-time (40h/week), initially limited for two years, possible extension afterwards

**Your tasks and responsibilities**:

- Installing, configuring and administering MS SQL databases
- Development, administration and maintenance of databases
- Designing and documenting the database landscape
- Provide maintenance and support for the client reporting solution
- Ensure performance, security and availability of databases
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues
- Program tools/scripts to automate tasks
- Find, filter, review and deliver information easily and quickly
- Designing databases that meet the needs of front-end and back-end users
- Monitoring database performance

**Your profile**:

- University degree (Bachelor/Diploma/FH) in IT or successful completion of a comparable IT qualification or successful completion of an IT specialist training with a focus on databases or comparable practical experience in the IT field
- Practical experience in the field of databases
- Sound knowledge of the installation, administration and configuration of the MS SQL database
- Experience in recognising, analysing and rectifying error conditions in the IT systems of the area of responsibility
- Knowledge and experience in handling Windows operating systems
- Knowledge of data analysis, Azure and API developments
- T-SQL knowledge desirable
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Strategic way of thinking, solution orientation
- A hands-on mentality and strong initiative
- High sense of responsibility, reliability,
- Intercultural competence
- Initiative, ability to work under pressure and commitment and enjoy challenges
- Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
