The Apprentice will organise shipments to move goods from the manufacturer or producer to a market, customer, or final point of distribution. This role will be primarily dealing with the planning of transportation of goods from one location to another via Air, Sea, Road, Courier jobs, from bookings through to completion.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join our team and in return, OIA Global will support every step of your career prospects. The Apprentice will be trained and developed as a clerk to support freight forwarding and logistics services. This role is a critical part of the supply chain procedures, from coordinating deliveries to managing shipping documentation. Ultimately, to ensure our customers receive the correct shipment updates on time. Developing and building relationships with existing and new customers and suppliers and processing all shipping documentation and completing freight administration.

**Key responsibilities**

**Operations**
- Disposition and processing of our import and export cargo.
- Creating tender submissions to offer supply of goods and services.
- Create and update order entries and billing information.
- Planning and organisation of on-carriage.
- Arrange and manage shipment bookings.
- To follow and implement transport requirements.
- Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable the freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time with all the necessary customs and legal documentation, including:
- Creating and updating freight bookings.
- Raise customs documentation to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
- Collate all documents and distribute them to customers and carriers, as required.
- Preparing and processing sales quotations, invoicing, and financial procedures.
- Arranging the transportation of goods using multiple transport modes.
- Ensure that local auditory and government requirements are met.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements in logistics operations.
- Responding to problems in logistics operations.

**Customer Service**
- Scheduling logistics operations to meet customer requirements.
- Contributing to the provision of customer service in logistics operations.
- Contacting customers directly to advise them of planned shipment details.
- Communicate with customers, ensuring that the messages are clear, precise, and effective.

**People**
- Accurate and timely reporting to department manager.
- Work closely with team members to achieve set objectives.
- Communication with our parent company in English (spoken and written).
- Communication with customers, worldwide partners, and service providers.
- Liaison with carriers, ports, and handling agents around the world.

**What we need from you**:

- Fluent in both written and spoken English and German.
- Eligibility to work in German.
- German school graduation qualification is mandatory.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work accurately and methodically.
- Good numeracy and IT skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible approach to duties and tasks.
