**Duties**:
The Telecommunications Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, operation and preventative maintenance of the Nortel and Avaya systems. Troubleshooting and repair for the Berlin communications network, including telephone systems, data systems and high-speed circuits, equipment and cabling. The telephone network consists of Seven major state-of-the-art Nortel, digital telephone switches and aux equipment. They service the Embassy in Berlin, CMR, DCMR, MGTR, MSGR, Clay Compound and the GSO Compound. the incumbent supports the communications requirements at the Consulate General in Leipzig and Hamburg. She/He is responsible for operations in the CAA and requires a top-secret clearance.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
Three years of experience as a telephone or data technician using any of the following systems: Nortel 81c, 61c, 11c, Avaya Aura, and cost accounting systems, is required.
- Education Requirements:
Two years of post-secondary education (or completion of other equivalent post-secondary degree or post-secondary education) in telecommunications, computer science, or information resource management (IRM).
- Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: English: Fluent, speaking/reading/writing. This will be tested.
