**Mission**:
We have a fantastic opportunity in our Purchasing Team based in Neuwied, Germany. You are responsible for and coordinate the necessary procurement for some smaller plants in Germany to ensure timely and smooth production. In your role, you work closely with the plant managers. This also depends on your willingness to travel. You report directly to the Purchsing Director EMEA.
**Responsibilities**:
- Contact person for the plant managers for all procurement issues for the plants in Neuwied and Mannheim
- Responsible for quality management for suppliers including monitoring based on key figures
- Purchasing support for OPEX/CAPEX projects from all plants
- Recording purchasing requirements and selecting new suppliers including contract negotiations
- Organizing and conducting standards reviews with selected suppliers
- Close cooperation with the national category managers of the purchasing organization and development of local purchasing synergies
- Analysis, tracking and reporting of key figures (e.g. savings)
- Collaboration with colleagues from other plants in the implementation of purchasing strategies
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree or commercial vocational training with additional training in purchasing
- Several years of experience as a buyer in an industrial environment or for production plants
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of using SAP R/3 is welcome
- Experience in using MS Office or Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
- Due to communication with international colleagues, good English skills are necessary
- Willingness to travel on business
The Plant Purchasing Manager will ensure the operational continuity of the different sites
within his/her perimeter.
- Play an active role in continuous improvement of process and strategy
o Be the single point of contact to the plant managers of the designated sites
o Gather local purchasing requirements, anticipate collect and optimize the site
requirements in terms of quantity and specifications

o Ensure internal customer satisfaction with the performance of the purchasing team

- Responsible for the deployment of global /regional category management policy
o Work closely with the regional category managers
o Ensure compliance with purchasing strategy and policy at site level
o Organise and Coordinate local trials with the suppliers selected by the category
managers
o Lead new purchasing initiatives at cross cluster or at country level on a case by case
basis.
- Responsibility for local purchases
o Responsible for the local purchase Opex/Capex
o Support deployment of larger capex on his/her sites
o Frequent local presence in the different sites of his/her perimeter
o Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts
o Propose and manage local purchase synergies
o Monitoring of supplier performance and KPI
o Reporting and analysis, collect and report data on financial performance and tracking
of savings
Reservation
The
Training Professional purchasing qualification or training.
Good working knowledge of English and German
Experience A minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing environment
