What You Will Work On
The Embedded Security Director will be located in Essen, Germany. This position is responsible for the overall physical security success of the client account. They serve as the primary point of contact overseeing the guard force and security technology on the client's corporate campus.
Essential Functions
- Design, develop and manage global safety and security principles, policies, procedures, and training.
- Implement a Security Risk Management (SRM) process and ensure that security risks across the project portfolio are continuously identified, assessed, and managed at or below the client’s acceptable risk threshold.
- Assist new business teams by assessing operational feasibility and forecasting security-related costs and drafting security responses to requests for proposals.
- Assist with travel security management processes by conducting location assessments, briefing travellers, and tracking their movements enroute to their destinations.
- Advising client or other key security management on safety and security matters.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to field-based security personnel including Security Focal Points, Risk Managers, and contracted third-party security service providers.
- Assist with purchasing decisions related to security services or equipment.
- Conduct periodic project security audits to ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor the local security situation in programming locations to provide local security alerts and conduct ongoing security assessments and analyses to inform project activities.
- Assist with project start-ups; conduct project security risk assessments, site assessments, staff training; and development of local safety and security plans.
Required and Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of corporate security experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanour at all times.
- Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
- Proficient in a broad range of technology and software, including but not limited to Apple iOS, MacOS, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Google Workspace (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides), Zoom, Slack, and project management tools such as Asana.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to various work-paces, maintaining high-level attentiveness and energy.
