- Development of climate co-benefit methodologies of Indian circular economy and forest programmes**Task description**:
Based on a climate co-benefits approach, the Indo-German Support Project for Climate Action in India supports the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change to address untapped potentials of Indian policies and programs to strengthen its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC). It develops models for public-private sector collaboration and implements demonstration projects in selected states to establish a climate co-benefit roadmap. The project focuses on the two areas circular economy/resource efficiency and forests/biodiversity, given their great potential for measuring and accounting climate co-benefits of individual activities.

The overall objective of this project is to strengthen capacities of selected decision makers at the national and state level to develop innovative approaches for the implementation of India’s NDCs and far-reaching climate policy.

The forestry experts are involved in the following work packages:

- Work Package 3: Development of an assessment framework for climate co-benefits with a focus on forestry;
- Work Package 5: Development and pilot of a climate co-benefit methodology in the focus area of forestry;
- Work Package 7: Development of roadmaps for using climate co-benefit methodologies for impacts of national schemes and programmes in the focus area of forestry, including sector guidelines on how to calculate climate co-benefits;
- Work Package 9: Conceptualization of training measures for climate action and climate co-benefit approaches in the focus area of forestry, including the potentials of carbon markets and pricing for mitigation and adaptation.

Tasks of the Forestry Expert
- Present the methodologies and roadmaps related to forestry/biodiversity to GIZ and other stakeholders;
- Monitor deliverables of the pool of junior experts;
- Structure and design consultations for relevant stakeholders;
- Ensure the quality of deliverables for Work packages 3, 5, 7 & 9

Tasks of the Junior Forestry Experts
- Provide technical and managerial support to the Forestry Expert in developing climate co-benefit methodologies, roadmaps and trainings;
- Support with research and implementation activities;
- Give technical inputs and provide technical, national, and regional expertise to the work packages upon GIZ request;
- Support in the elaboration of reports and milestone documents to GIZ.

**Qualifications**:
Forestry Expert
- University Master’s degree in in either or combination of the following fields: forestry, biodiversity conservation, conservation science, climate change or related fields;
- English Level C1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- At least 5 years of professional experience in forestry or biodiversity;
- At least 3 years of professional experience in forestry or biodiversity and climate change related methodologies, assessment frameworks;
- At least 3 years of experience working in development cooperation projects;
- Regional experience in India.

Junior Forestry Expert
- University master's degree in either or a combination of following fields: Environmental Sciences, Political Sciences, Engineering, Energy, Climate, Economics or Forestry;
- English Level C1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages);
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of forestry;
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of forestry and climate change mitigation.
