Job Title: Accountant
Division : Weir Minerals
Location: Onsite: Hybrid
Purpose of Role:
Weir Minerals Germany needs an accountant to be the primary point of contact for all finance related activities in Germany.
This role will report into the UK Financial Controller and will work closely with the UK finance team. The accountant will oversee all financial postings in the company’s SAP system and ensure that the right financial controls and processes are in place.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review of indirect tax returns prepared by KPMG and responding to queries raised on a monthly basis. Being the primary point of contact for tax authorities.
- Review of direct tax returns prepared by Deloitte and responding to queries raised on an annual basis. Ensuring that CIT payments on account are made when needed.
- Supporting other work in respect of the company’s taxation ie transfer pricing reports and tax investigations. Being the primary point of contact for the tax authorities.
- Working with the UK finance team and KPMG in respect of the annual statutory accounts and audit. Being the primary point of contact for auditors.
- Supporting the Treasury and Tax manager in respect of monthly FX grids and any cashflow issues.
- Assisting the UK finance team in respect of cash collections, customer disputes and customer payment terms.
- Working with the wider business in respect of cost control, review of commercial contracts and tenders, margin analysis.
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Experienced and qualified accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”)
- Experience with and knowledge of national and international accounting (HGB, IFRS)
- Qualified for preparing annual accounts in accordance with HGB and IFRS
- SAP FI skills
- Previous successful experience of working as a specialist accountant
- Excellent English language skills - written and spoken
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations
- Demonstrates high analytical skills
