The **Department of Infectious Diseases, Virology at the University Hospital Heidelberg **offers positions for **postdocs at all career level**s to investigate post-entry events in retrovirus replication. Research will be conducted in the groups of Hans-Georg Kräusslich and Barbara Müller within the DFG funded collaborative research center **1129**.

**Your Tasks**:

Investigation of post-entry events in retrovirus (HIV-1 or MLV) replication using:

- Advanced fluorescence labelling methods
- Generation and characterization of virus derivatives
- study virus replication in (modified) cell lines and primary cells using virological and cell-biological approaches (infectivity analyses, FACS) as well as microscopy
- State of the art microscopy (live-cell, super-resolution, EM) and image analysis

**Your Profile**:
***
- Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics or molecular medicine)
- Interest in addressing basic virological questions using a variety of methods, with a strong focus on imaging techniques and image analysis
- Good background in standard molecular biological methods
- Ideally experience in fluorescence microscopy and image analysis together with a background in cell biology, biochemistry or biophysics
