TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Job description:
- Support customer quotation during project acquisition phase
- Participates in regular project meetings with other departments as a core team member for product lines with a high impact and influences proactively the cost structure in a positive way with alternative/potential production methods and suppliers
- Analyses the market and collects the requirements for the future
- Technical Project management to drive Tooling and Customer projects from Customer Request until Release at Final Location
- Accountable for execution of projects according customer timing
- Contributes to product design reviews with VA/VE analysis to influence design to manufacturing decisions and to propose alternative production methods
- Drives complex ad hoc queries and work autonomously on assigned projects
- Coordinates communication of changes between core team, commodities, supply chain, suppliers, engineering, quality and competence centers
- Coordinate risk assessments, organize and lead supplier component reviews
- Responsible to negotiate quotations with a significant impact to meet project target
- Discusses offers with engineering and suppliers
- Responsible to present post RFQ's in the sourcing meeting and have a jointly evaluation and selection of suppliers in the competitive Bid-process for serial production with procurement
- and supplier quality to grow with preferred partners and to actively consolidate the current supply base worldwide
- Responsible for a proper hand over of projects and tasks to commodity buyers
- Responsible to coordinate product line related saving projects within procurement
- Identifies and drives process improvements and updates or creates the required documentation
- Initiate quotation requests to internal and external suppliers for project specific investment, tools and assembly equipment as well as purchased parts

**Requirements**:
- Several years of experience in procurement and/or technical field, e.g. process engineering, product engineering, tool manufacturing
- Experience with project management
- Extensive experience in working with multicultural and cross functional teams
- Fluency in English
