**Our Profile**:
The Institute of Fluid Power Drives and Systems (ifas) at RWTH Aachen University is one of the largest institutes of its kind in the world, specialising in research and teaching in all areas of fluid technology. In addition to mechanical engineering, it also encompasses disciplines such as thermodynamics, computer science, control engineering, electrical engineering, tribology and chemistry. Hydraulic drives offer a high power density and are used, for example, in work and production machines, but also in humanoid robots.
**Your Profile**:
You bring with you:
- Mechanical engineering, CES or related degree programmes
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink desirable
- Knowledge of control engineering desirable
- Experience with test bench work/experiments desirable
- Good knowledge of German
You are interested in long-term employment. Less prior knowledge due to a lower level of study is not an obstacle in this context.
**Your Duties and Responsibilities**:
Your area of responsibility is varied and customisable. Most of your work will take place in our test centre. The tasks are expected to cover the following topics and relate to current projects and research questions. Prior familiarisation with the relevant topics will take place as required.
- Support in the testing of new components/test benches
- Analysing measurement data
- Support in the automation of measurement data processing
- Commissioning/automation of test benches
- Literature research on relevant topics
**What We Offer**:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to 12/31/2025.
The position can also be concluded for a different contract period if desired.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8-13 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13,25 € per hour.
