**Postdoctoral researcher (M/F/x) - ERC Project „Microfluidic Tuning of Individual Nanoparticles to understand and improve Electrocatalysis” till 31.08.2024, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13**:
Our team: The Chair of Analytical Chemistry II “Electrochemistry and Nanoscale Materials” at RUB is headed by Prof. Dr. Kristina Tschulik and part of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as well as the Cluster of Excellence “Ruhr Explores Solvation”. We are a dynamic and international working group with several years of expertise in the development of electrochemical methods to examine single nanoparticles and particle ensembles. Our laboratories are equipped with various state-of-the-art electrochemical and spectroscopical methods for characterization of electrochemical processes and nanomaterials.

- Planning, implementation and evaluation of electrochemical experiments of nanostructures and their combination with further optical/ spectroscopic and microfluidic systems.
- Identification of suitable surface wetting and flow settings for different tasks based on physico-chemical modelling
**The position offers versatile cooperation within our international research team and our interdisciplinary cooperation partners and requires**:
- Extended experience in research in experimental fundamental electrochemistry in particular with respect to segmented flow microfluidics or manipulation of droplet/ surface interactions in electrochemical systems to complement our interdisciplinary and multinational research team.
- Experience in working in different countries, international research teams and in collaboration with other national and international groups.
- Expertise in independently running and designing electrochemical experiments with physical-chemistry research questions.
- Strong track record in publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals having a physico-chemical focus.
- Joy in independent creative thinking and experience in supervising BSc and MSc theses research and advising doctoral students in projects on experimental fundamental electrochemistry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English language
**Furthermore, the position desires**:
- Experience in nanoparticle synthesis and characterization methods.
- Laboratory-relevant programming skills for (semi) automated data analysis.
- Expertise in designing and modifying experimental setups to address fundamental research questions in electrochemistry, ideally including technical drawing of such design.
- Willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration with e.g. Mechanical Engineers and Physicists.
- Motivation, honesty and teamwork skills combined with the ability to work independently.
