**Working field**:
Work tasks include:

- Field work in South Africa with remote sensing methods (e.g. drones, satellite)
- Data -collection, -processing and -analysis
- Development of exploration approaches with integration of technical, economic, environmental and social impacts
- Modelisation using deep learning approaches (e.g. transformers, diffusion)
- Participation in the various activities of the research school, including online and in-person seminars and workshops
- Conception and preparation of scientific dissemination (e.g. international journals and conferences)

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Earth Sciences or Data Science
- Sound and documented education in Machine Learning and Image Processing
- Ability and willingness to perform field work in South Africa
- Motivated team player in a group of interdisciplinary and international professionals: intercultural experience will be an advantage
- Structured and solution-oriented working style, analytical thinking and commitment to academic excellence
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English
