The Tübingen Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital are part of the University of Excellence Tübingen. They provide medical services at the highest level and cover the entire spectrum of modern medicine, research, teaching and clinical care.

**Full Professor (W3) of Vector Development**

The possible focal points of the professorship include the design, production and delivery of gene therapy vectors, such as AAV vectors. Intensive cooperation with existing research groups in the field of gene therapy and immunology is a prerequisite.

The overarching aim of the professorship is to strengthen the preclinical development of vector-based gene therapies and prospectively their implementation in first-in-human trials. This professorship is intended to complement the existing expertise, particularly in the field of neuronal, neurosensory and hematological experimental model systems. There is also a link to translation by means of study-ready cohorts, biomarkers for the detection of target effect and therapy response as well as data on natural progression.

Moreover, the ability and willingness to collaborate across disciplines and in particular to organize, lead and participate in interdisciplinary and translational research networks of the Faculty of Medicine and the University are expected. The newly founded Institute of Immunology for instance offers excellent opportunities to develop further synergies.

In the field of teaching, teaching experience to an appropriate extent and commitment are expected, particularly with regard to innovative curricula of the study programs of the Faculty of Medicine, especially in the field of molecular medicine, as well as active participation in the design of lectures, laboratory courses, theses and other teaching formats.

The position has a teaching load of nine hours per week during the semester.

Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent degree as well as postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship.

The scientific lectures and personal interviews with the appointment committee in Tübingen are currently scheduled for calendar week 26.
