At the **Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department Geosciences, Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, **the** Junior Professorship in Environmental Remote Sensing **offers a position as
**Research Associate / PhD Student / Postdoc** (M/F/x)
starting **April 1.2024** and limited for 36 months. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position comprises 50% of the fulltime weekly hours The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (usually PhD / habilitation thesis). There is the option to raise the working time with third-party funding.
**Requirements**: university degree and if applicable PhD with a focus on remote sensing and environmental sciences; expert knowledge in analyzing remote sensing or climate data in Python and/or R as well as practical experience in machine learning and radiative transfer models; knowledge of Linux/Unix and HPC systems; willingness to work in the field; drivers license class B; interest in questions of global environmental change, especially in the research topics of the junior professorship; strong teamwork and communication skills; goal-oriented working style; business fluent in written and oral English.
