- In your new role, you will introduce LCA, EPDs, and Robust Eco Design solutions as an essential part of Siemens engine development and establish the concepts. Together with partners from Product and Project Management, Development, Purchasing, EHS, and Manufacturing, we demonstrate the outstanding potential of our products and solutions.
- Coordinating the implementation of EPD and RED projects in your unit to both improve customer value through increased transparency as well as to optimize production costs and sustainability factors in equal measure
- Taking over the decisions in the development teams on issues related to Product Carbon Footprint, Environmental Impact Categories, sustainable impact factors, eco-design, and energy efficiency
- Developing methodological expertise together with colleagues from R&D and IT for life cycle assessment of our product range (EPDs, LCA's) and design optimization, and using this to derive fields of action and material strategies for future products and redesigns
- Conducting training to anchor the sustainability competence in the engine R&D and neighboring departments
- Supporting the further development of a network for the exchange of best practices and expertise within Digital Industries and at Siemens level
- Shaping the global standardization regarding sustainability topics by representing Siemens' interests in external committees
**What you need to make real what matters.**
- University degree in sustainability management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or (industrial) engineering
- Many years of experience in the engineering/R&D/manufacturing environment with an interface to purchasing and profound related market insights
- Proven professional experience in industrial digitization/automation would be beneficial
- In-depth knowledge in the areas of value/function assessments, EPD creation, and target cost definition, as well as in the use of Teamcenter Product Cost Management
- Broad experience in project management and curiosity about leading and mentoring multi-functional and international project teams
- International experience and business proficiency in German and English
