**Paralegal, Central & Eastern EMEA Region (M/F/d)**:
This Paralegal’s primary role will be to support on a variety of commercial legal matters across the DACH and CEE region as well as corporate matters in Germany, in collaboration with more senior colleagues. The position will be based in Wiesbaden, Germany and will report to the Senior Legal Counsel Germany, Austria & Switzerland. The role will be on a full-time basis and may require occasional travel within EMEA.

**Role**:
Individual to provide secretarial services to the Counsels in the Central & Eastern EMEA Region as well as basic legal advice and support to Abbott’s businesses in Germany, Austria & Switzerland, also on occasion for specific projects elsewhere in the EMEA region. The Paralegal reports to the Senior Legal Counsel Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

**Core Job Responsibilities**:

- Draft, prepare, proof, edit and review contracts/quotes based on standard Abbott contract templates (Services Agreements, Sales Agreements various other Business Agreements) independently or in collaboration with Legal Counsels
- Handling of corporate files
- In coordination with external counsel and notaries as well as Legal Counsels manage and handle corporate files of more than 20 Abbott legal entities including support of co-determined supervisory boards. Respond to requests from internal and external auditors
- Negotiate standard agreements including standard terms and conditions through resolution directly with internal clients and outside partners; complex legal issues will be escalated to Legal Counsels
- Organize the secretarial work of the International Legal Department in Germany, Wiesbaden independently; inter alia organize the filing of legal documents, handle incoming and outgoing mail, coordinate purchase of necessary office equipment and tracking of invoices of external counsels
- Manage internal and external correspondence in German and English language
- Organization of meetings, legal trainings and conferences as well as associated travel planning
- Support Legal Counsels in their daily work, e.g. by assisting with the preparation of presentations and training material, collecting information for reporting to Legal Management, coordinating telephone conferences and booking of meeting rooms
- Conduct legal research for Legal Counsels on different legal topics as required for responses to legal questions and as necessary to inform the business on recent legal developments. Assist with scanning the legal environment for planned new laws relevant for the business
- Prepares translations English-German and vice versa on assigned projects
- Special projects or project management as needed

**Education/Background Experience**
- Master or Bachelor of Laws (LL.M.), first state exam in law obtained from a German University or comparable education
- In-house legal experience required, experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships
- Excellent time management with strong attention to detail and follow up skills
- Ability to handle a high volume of work and manage multiple priorities with mínimal supervision
- Ability to work with multiple cross functional internal groups as wel
