TE Connectivity's Project Management Teams are responsible for managing the operational aspects of projects from inception through implementation. They coordinate cross-functional teams and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project teams and line management. Our Teams review status of projects and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports. They assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. They also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

The Director Project Manager has the full responsibility for all his projects/ Program’s regarding major mile-stones, deliverables on time and Project health

**Scope of Impact to Business**:

- Defines operational strategy for his/her organization's Project Management Office
- May contribute to Business Unit or corporate PMO strategy
- Directs multiple key initiatives that impact corporate/business goals
- Engages senior leadership to define the PMO mission, goals and operating model, and releases it in the form of the PMO charter
- Be the champion of BU's projects portfolio and drive project launch success through ensuring the right projects at the right time in line with the strategic roadmap.

**Education, Professional Experience, Knowledge and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Engineering, Science or Business
- Typically has 10 years of experience managing global project/program with 5 years of supervisory experience
- Provides inputs and leadership on identifying and resolving key issues that directly impact the business
- Strategic thinking, global big-picture approach
- High degree of initiative, broad business, technical & financial acumen and project and portfolio management knowledge
- Negotiates with and influences senior leaders on matters of significance to the organization
- Proactive in acquiring knowledge and experience more rapidly for the team through training and collaboration with PMO teams in other regions.
- Change management champion
- Conduct specific reviews for projects at risk across the portfolio and partnering with senior leaders to ensure right prioritization and focus
- Leadership - Negotiation - Decision Making - Team Building - Problem solving

**Scope of Responsibilities**:

- Typically reports to a CTO or BU leader
- Typically has 10 years of experience managing complex projects in a global setting with 5 yrs. of experience in managing a global PMO
- Overall responsibility for planning, staffing, budgeting, and managing expenses of the PMO
- Directs global project management office through other managers
- Proactively work with all functions in managing resources for the projects
- Manages risk and compliance across the global projects portfolio
- Define and drive PMO best practices
- Interacts with executives and key external contacts.
- Responsible for enabling and mentoring a high performing team which will deliver on business vision and objectives
- Leads the development and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guide-lines and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to successful deliver projects
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in PMO, Lifecycle and business processes
- Provides regular health checks of the portfolio to all the stakeholders

**Special Knowledge and Skills**:

- Formal project management education and/or PMP certification
- Strong change management expertise
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
- Ability to understand, manage and deliver on complex situations or problems without guidance or supervision
- Experience of success in Project Management and new product introduction in highly technical product portfolio
- Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools and Resource Management Tools
